AE 481/482 Reflection

 

The Architectural Engineering programs senior thesis capstone project includes two courses focused on the analysis of a construction project. This was an opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge and educational experience in the subjects of architectural engineering. The first course is guided through understanding the overall project from the building systems, construction methods, and all other related topics. The second course in the spring allows for more freedom to develop four analyses to improve the project. Many project features had the ability to improve certain aspects of construction but would also provide additional challenges to the current project.The skills obtained through the capstone project serve to prepare students for the construction industry upon graduation.

 

CPEP Reflection

 

The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) used by the students is an effective communication tool with the professors. The CPEP was used to share information and keep track of items due throughout the semester. The websites will be kept up to demonstrate the intense research completed as a part of the capstone project.

 

 

ABET Assessment

 

As part of the capstone project, a survey is completed in accordance with requirements established by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). These outcomes reflect a personal student assessment not the course instructors' assessment.
